ATEX PACMAN Testing at BP Hamble, UK
In 2018 MHD Magnets has joined forces with MarTest Cambrian to enhance the regular PACMAN design and introduce a magnetic separator according explosion protection (ATEX) regulations. After completing the design, fabricating the prototype and finalizing the dossier for the ATEX Declaration of Conformity initial functionality testing started end of 2018.
At the Hamble terminal of BP in the UK, MarTest Cambrian and MHD got the oppertunity to start the first live testing of the ATEX PACMAN-300 in the beginning of 2019. The PACMAN has proven to collect a significant amount of mainly rust partices from the gasoil and function as expected in automatic self cleaning mode.
